友邦保險前身“美國友邦保險（AIA）”，成立于1919年的上海，創始人史帶。是美國國際集團（AIG）的全資子公司，AIG是全球最大的金融保險機構，全球500強排前10名，分支機構遍及全球150多個國際和地區，最高時總資產達8000多億美金。美國友邦保險于1992年返回中國，并于同年在上海設立分公司，是第一家獲得獨資營運牌照的非內地人壽保險公司。2008年金融危機后美國友邦保險分出獨立，2010年10月29日在香港上市，股票代碼：1299，是亞洲最大的保險公司，市值全球排名第四的壽險公司，總資產1470億美金。目前，友邦保險在中國大陸的業務范圍已經擴展到北京市、深圳市、廣東省和江蘇省。作為第一家將保險營銷員制度引進國內的保險公司，友邦保險建立了專業的保險營銷員隊伍，并通過多元化銷售渠道，為客戶提供一系列人壽保險、人身意外保險和醫療保險產品。
